The overwhelming feeling of senior year is upon me
I didn't think I'd feel it so soon, but naturally, I do.
There are so many colleges I didn't get to explore and see,
I've got applications, essays, and big life decisions, too.
I don't know where to go or how to write my college essay,
I'm caught in between my dream school and saving money.
I am so overwhelmed I change my mind almost everyday,
Whenever my mom says "stay home and just commute, honey".
I want to make the best decision, the one I know I won't regret,
It's just so hard when money plays such a major part.
The memories I make away at school I know I won't forget,
But why not go to Bergen and wait two more years for them to start?
In the end the decision I make is only up to me
And by March 1st I will know where my future lies.
I will choose what is best for the person I want to someday be,
Until then, I will just relax and wait until my heart decides.

I know how you feel. Money plays a big role when trying to decide where to go to school.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of your decision you're guaranteed a good education. But money does play a big role, always follow your heart!
ReplyDeleteApplying to college is so stressful. I would recommend applying for as many scholarships as you can, and maybe that will make it a little easier on your parents! I liked all of the ideas that you included in your poem, since visiting the schools is important too! I hope you make the right choice! :)
ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate to line six...Whenever my mom says "stay home and just commute, honey". My mom always hints that she wants me to commute. Honestly, just do what you feel is best for you and everything thing will fall into place. Wish you the best!
