"Competition Craziness!"

"Stick your stunts and watch your lines,
If you do this, I'm sure you'll be fine."
These are the things Miss. Buzzeli would always say,
To prepare her cheerleaders for competition day.

As the practices got longer, we continued to look like a mess,
3rd degree of excellence, I truly expected nothing less.
The stunts were falling and our dance moves were far from tight,
If we looked like this in front of Miss. B, how would we look when we had stage fright?

So we arrived at competition and the time was coming near
Stick your stunts, smile, be tight; there was so much that we had to fear.
What if the flyers get so nervous that they don't stay in the air?
The bases must make sure that they handle every girl with care.

We ran out on the mat and we were the best that we could be,
Seeing the satisfied look on the judges' faces was the best thing I never thought I'd see.
As we awaited the announcement of whose performance was the best,
Each cheerleader's love for the squad was truly put to the test.

We heard them announce that we had gotten first place champions, overall!
We couldn't believe it, we had waited for this moment since the beginning of fall!

"Which Path Should I Choose?"

The overwhelming feeling of senior year is upon me
I didn't think I'd feel it so soon, but naturally, I do.
There are so many colleges I didn't get to explore and see,
I've got applications, essays, and big life decisions, too.

I don't know where to go or how to write my college essay,
I'm caught in between my dream school and saving money.
I am so overwhelmed I change my mind almost everyday,
Whenever my mom says "stay home and just commute, honey".

I want to make the best decision, the one I know I won't regret,
It's just so hard when money plays such a major part.
The memories I make away at school I know I won't forget,
But why not go to Bergen and wait two more years for them to start?

In the end the decision I make is only up to me
And by March 1st I will know where my future lies.
I will choose what is best for the person I want to someday be,
Until then, I will just relax and wait until my heart decides.

"A Well Deserved Senior Spirit Week Win"

Spirit week is known in high schools everywhere
As being the most intense week of the year.
It is a battle of the grades, sometimes it is a nightmare
As teachers must watch their enemy students go at it with fear.

Last year the junior grade should have come out on top,
But instead the senior grade took our well-deserved crown.
So this year the class of 2013 would not stop
Until the other grades learned to obey and bow down.

It was a stressful week trying to come out with a win,
As the freshmen crept up in second place.
We were worried all week that our senior year would not begin
With a big shiny trophy to show off and embrace.

After all the worries and hard work that we went through,
Our class had the most spirit every day of the week!
Although the stress of college is dragging with us, too,
We proved we deserved the win that we would always seek.
